At G.D. Gazis, we deliver exceptional structural engineering and construction administration services. We collaborate with all stakeholders, including owners, architects, civil engineers, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers, and contractors to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions. Rooted in integrity and collaboration, we aim to build lasting relationships with clients by striving for excellence in every project.
President
George D. Gazis, Ph.D., S.E.
George D. Gazis is an accomplished engineering and construction management professional with over 45 years of diverse experience in structural analysis and design, project management, and consulting. He is a registered Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois with broad expertise across all types of construction projects, including commercial and residential buildings, and heavy industrial and manufacturing facilities.
George has extensive experience in developing engineering and construction solutions for new building structures, as well as the retrofitting and renovdation of existing ones. His experience across all engineering disciplines allows him to work effectively with contractors to develop design documents and specifications. He has conducted numerous forensic engineering investigations using a full range of analytical and material testing methods to determine the cause and extent of the problem and to subsequently provide efficient corrective solutions.
As a real estate professional, George has experience in the full life cycle of property development. He has performed site feasibility studies, managed acquisitions, and entitlements, and has been the lead engineer and construction manager for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. His residential development experience includes the design-build of new and total rehabilitation of single-family and multi-family housing. In the commercial and industrial sector, George’s experience spans shopping centers, restaurants, car care centers, office buildings, supermarkets, and large-scale food processing plants.
In a consulting setting, George has worked as an expert witness to resolve litigation claims and disputes arising from faulty design and construction. Furthermore, he has conducted inspections for banks evaluating the allocation of construction loans, has performed independent field verification and constructability reviews, and has prepared construction bid evaluations.

Nikolaos Gazis, Ph.D., P.E., S.E.
Nick has over 15 years of industry experience which includes all phases of the project from inception, to detailed design, and through construction.
In addition to his experience in the building industry, Nick worked in the oil and gas industry where he performed analysis/design of subsea structures exposed to extreme environmental conditions (i.e. hurricane events, high seismic, ultra-deepwater, etc.).
